I am going to post 3 videos now. Watch all 3 of them before moving on please.
I know a lot of u don't have time to watch all of them in full. If that is the case, then maybe u guys can watch half of the video..it should be enough (except the 2nd video. perhaps need to watch 2/3 of the video...)
Yes, all singing the song Iris. Which is the best??
The 1st video is Ronan Keating's latest single which is released in Europe only. He asked John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls lead singer) to let him do a cover for this song and he agreed. Video shot in Dubai (looks quite expensive but boring huh?)
2nd video is Avril singing with GGD. Not too bad...
The last video is by Goo Goo Dolls themselves. Released in 1998 as part City of Angels soundtrack (which have a few hit songs like alanis's uninvited, sarah's angels...)
For info, Iris was written by John Rzeznik and was GGD's biggest hit ever. John (and the Goo Goo Dolls) was asked to write a song for the movie and so the lyrics is closely associated to that movie (which was quite good...)
When I saw Ronan's version, the first thing that comes to my mind is what the hell...he totally ruin the song!! Argh... The original version is full of emotions, intense and raw love. Ronan's version don't have that!!!
But then again, maybe I am biased.
With Avril, it sounds not too bad...quite refreshing...
But the best is still Goo Goo Dolls singing it...plus, John Rzeznik is so gorgeous...good-looking, charismatic. I fell in love with his slight husky voice too. Yes, he is 41 years old now, but still I like him a lot. Who doesn't??
I remembered Simon Cowell once said that rock bands that make it big have lead singers that are not necessary good-looking, but they have stage presence and charisma. When u come to think of it, it's kinda true. Bon Jovi, Matchbox twenty, Goo Goo Dolls...
Goo Goo Dolls are like my secret, unknown to a lot of people that I like them and are my favourite band at all time. Iris is my favourite song of all time. Not one of my favourites, but THE favourite.
Oh dear, I can listen to that song for hours...what do u guys think?
Goo Goo Dolls have a new album released called Let Love in, which is their 8th album. Will post about it when I got time.
Anyway, in case I am not online on 11 Sep, Happy birthday Sarah!! I hope u are reading this...
Cheerios. Enjoy the videos.
