Student's life
Is there a name for brains being fried too much? Overfried brains??
I am feeling all of these right now. Sleep-deprived, tired, stressed, over-fried brain. Not to mention heavy eyebags and dark dark eye-circles (it has never been so dark before in my life), bad dull oily patchy skin, hay-like hair... u get the picture.
Normally, a business student in NUS is the busiest at this point of time. I can't say for other facs, but business this is always true.
After mid-term break, after all the mid-term tests, the 'dreading' part comes. Projects deadlines, reports deadlines, and the releasing of mid-term tests results. And of course, the realisation that u have a lot to catch up in ur work because exams is like 1 month plus away...
For me, this is my post-mid-term-tests-To-Do-list:
1. Study for MA test for thurs (haven't start!!~~ die...)
2. OM project....(haven start too..my grp is dying...it's going to be due in a 2 or 3 wks!!)
3. Genes and Society essay ( due next next fri...but there is quite a number of research need to do...die..)
4. Dance classes to complete (3 in total)
5. Lots of application to do...
6. The never ending tutorials...
7. Finance quiz next week...
It's shorter than the list I posted previously, but it's still horrifyingly scary and heavy...
I think the project is gg to be the one burdening me soon...right now it's the test!!!
I can forget about October. It will pass me by without me knowing. I can only take a breather when my exams finish...
And it doesn't help when u have 3 friends having their birthdays this month. And 3 next mth, with one of them being my mum. Possibly of 4 celebrations to go to...
Speaking of my birthday, thanks girls for the dinner and bitch-talk!! It was really fun...all the laughing made my cheeks and jaws ache!!! Thanks for making me realise that I have such great friends. Thanks for never failing to make me part of the group even though I am the baby (literary the baby) of the group... Thanks for bearing with the senseless and the most stupidest jokes... Thanks for the fun...
Auntie Janice!!! It' s gorlie gorlie gorlie....lol...
Irene: thanks for the bag charm. I love it! And all the help u had given me for genes..
And POO: Remember I want a pair of diamond earrings from u as my birthday present this yr...
And if anyone wants to buy me anything but have no idea what to buy, buy me a laptop case. I still haven't buy a laptop case for my lappie ever since I got it 1 year ago...
There is a joke in that above comment, and if u don't understand, forget what u read just now.
Just something I need to say here.
Yuxin: Thanks for ur help and notes in genes....u had given me so much help...thanks...
Need to get back to work soon. I always hear people say it's so good being students. And it's true. All the students discounts, concession for travel and the priceless tag of "being ignorant" on certain things because we are too young, which allows us to escape from scoldings from bosses during vacation job when we screwed up....but being a student is not that rosy of a picture.
Look at the amt of work we have to do... with all ur future dangling in front of u like a carrot in front of rabbit...whether u go to honours or not, whether u get a certificate of merit or not...when all ur entire future depends heavily on how well u do ur test, projects, ccas, whatever.
So don't ever say students are having it easy. We never are having it easy. We just have different types of problems and work, and probably as stressed up or even more stressed than the working people. And students are not getting monetary paid by all the stress....
We poor students. LOL...
I haven't gotten more than 5 hrs of sleep ever since I started studying for mid-term tests...it's about 2 weeks alr and it's getting to me. Somedays I have to be content with 3 hrs of sleep. I found myself sleeping with my head on top of my MA notes with greases marks all over a page from my facial oil yesterday after being too tired...
I wondered if any of my ex-colleagues is reading this entry of mine. Auntie Jeslyn is always saying she is very very busy...but I wondered she may change her mind about that after reading this entry... I feel that I am even busier than her...
OM test results is out. I did average. Econs...results is more or less out if u went for the mass tutorial. I did okay...at least I passed so I am not complaining...
I promised this to be short. I better go.
I broke my record of studying. My latest (or earliest) and newest record now is till 6.30am...
Good luck to me.
Oh yeah, Carisse warned me about me turning twenty. She said that I have to get used to writing '2' first when asked about my age in application forms...lol...
And so I am 20 now.
All right, I need to...
Mug, mug, mug...
