Luck
I saw the team singapore athletes coming back to sg from Manila for their sea games. It was really pure coincidence. I did not plan this. I was just happen to be at the right place at the right time. I saw Li Jiawei, Zhang Xueling, Remy Ong...and Jing Junhong was there at the airport welcoming them home. She retired remember? She stood just feet away from me. I wanted to see Mark Chay, the national swimmer who is not bad looking...in my opinon he is hovering at the "gorgeous" and "above average" line...but I did not see him. Maybe I missed him after seeing so many people coming out from the arrival gate. Instead, I got the scary Malay guy and Simon Chua...from bodybuilding....argh!!!!
I dun wan to bore you with the details, but this kind of thing, there is always some kind of gates at the waist height to stop people from rushing to those important people. This time was no different. But after they took the group picture under the billboard, the people handling this event actually open the gates to let the public to interact. I kept trying to avoid being shoot on the tv camera so that I won't appear at the 9.30 ch5 news or 10pm ch8 news. (fun fact, my attempt was futile. I saw half of my face on tv. The other half was blocked by Teo Chean Heng and my camera...hahahahaha). I wanted to go to Zhang and Li for their autographs and a picture. I mean, they are our top sports women right now right? But, for the 1st time in my life, I don't have the guts. I don't dare. I was afraid. I was actually trembling at one point. Maybe because this time I was alone. Also, most people who were talking to them other than the press seems to be the people they KNOW. I was unable to do it. In the end, I let my guts got better of me and let them go without even saying a hi to them. Oh well, at least they are singaporeans right? There is always another chance to see them.
On a lighter note. I was wearing those slippery noisy slippers that gives a loud "pak!!" whenever I climbed down the stairs. Today, when I was going down the steps to take my bus home, my slippers went "pak pak pak!!!" again. It was so loud that the people at that level was looking at me. I was so damn embarrassed, I decided to control the way I moved down the steps so that my slippers won't make so much noise. I looked funny and walked very funnily. Unfortunately for me, 2 angmoh pilots saw me walking like that. Guess what?? .....
Guess....
Guess first!!!!
One of the pilots said to me smilingly, "You are able to wake the whole airport up with your slippers!!!"
My face turned red, I was so embarrassed, I gave him a weak smile and walked very fast, determined to put a distance between me and him....
Anyway, I happened to have a camera with me, so I took some pictures of the team sg athletes...
Li Jiawei, Zhang Xueling.
Remy Ong...blocked by the stupid person with the flag. And Li Jiawei again...
And Zhang Xueling...
Cheerios.
