Interview Session

Went for an internship interview today... Ah... in short I screwed up the entire interview. The person asked me a lot of questions on the achievements that I have done, and my personality, and A LOT of others. I was reading up on the company last night but all were useless. She didn't ask me on what I know about the company AT ALL. Waste my time man.

And somemore I don't have that many achievements to talk about how suitable am I for the internship. Felt a little worthless then.

AND I kept pronouncing 'eligible' as 'ligible'.... AH...

Haiz. Yiwen was right. At least I got an interview for an internship. Can gain experience from it. Next time, focus on myself rather than the company!!

But still feel a little regretful because I could have done better and maybe, JUST MAYBE, I will be able to clinch the internship. Haiz. No use crying over spilt milk.

Now maybe I should focus on getting a job. Don't know whether I should still continue to source for internship or a temp job. Maybe I should start sourcing for an internship for myself. Internship is quite valuable and crucial in determining which major I should take...

Haiz. Shall think all of that after my bio exam on mon. I know a lot of my friends had finished their papers, but I quite like the idea of 7 days to study for bio because I haven't touch it before my papers!! At least got time to study..And thinking about my timetable after exams was bad... got to teach tuition 3 times a wk for the next 2 wks cos the boy boy is having his exams soon...

Back to studying for bio!!

Marketing Presentation

Guess what?? My marketing group won the presentation as a agency team!! There is another team that is considered as a client team, which means they aligned themselves with the clients and not involved in the designing the campaigns. They got higher marks than us but as an agency team, we are the highest!! So happy, cos I wasn't expect that because the client asked a lot of questions about our campaign and we fumbled a little during the presentation. But yeah, apparently pulled through!! All of the hard work was worth it man..

But actually the marks of all the teams are more of less about 1-3 marks apart. So dunno how much our campaign marks will make the difference in the final grading and the stupid bell curve...

Oh well, after seeing the email today, I hope I can get good grades with this mod man. Cos all my other papers are goner!! Can't finish biz com, and APB as well!! I am so screwed for APB... everyone seems to be writing a lot for their essays but I only write very little... haiz.

Anyway, went for a little lunch with Nicole and Gary today and we were talking about the funniest American Idol commerical we ever see. It's the kids version of the judges... and we were laughing so hard about that commerical!!

Sorry couldn't find a better quality. That is easily the best commercial about American Idol. So funny! The best part of the commerical is Mini-Simon Cowell. His accent is hilarious, his comments is crazy and even his hair looks the same as Simon!! He's so alike to the real Simon to the point u may believe this kid is Simon in his childhood days!! Wahahahaha... Where did the producers of AI find this kid??

Btw, Simon Cowell's birthday is 7 Oct 1959, which is of the same date and month as mine... (=

Anyway, I was so nervous for The Amazing Race's Dustin and Kandice... they almost got yielded. Thanks to Danny and Oswald for helping them in a corrupted way!! But I hate Charla and Mirna and can't wait for them to be eliminated but it doesn't look like it's happening soon... please don't let them win the race!! I am supporting D&K!! Jia you girls!!

*Currently MTV is playing the song Give It To me by Timberland feat Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake... I have a little fondess of this song because it was this song that helped me win the TMNT gala premiere tickets... lol

Gotta go. Start mugginf for Gen bio, which I have 7 days to study... Cheerios.

John Legend's PDA

I have to go to bed soon, but I just have to say.

It's amazing how many people are talking about and loving John Legend's P.D.A (We Just Don't Care).

Linda almost put that song on her blog. Zoe, Jul and Irene love that song. Nicole sat beside the radio for a long time hoping to know the title of the song before I told her the title.

And now, I just saw Angeline putting the lyrics on her blog.

Ah... the impact of a song. Makes people crazy.

Or I should say this chinese phrase that I learnt from my secondary school days.... 三月不知肉味...

Cheerios. Gd Luck for my apb paper tml.

And I am sick of China and India now. I am sick of hearing them as the next economic powerhouses. Aren't anyone having enough of them??

Haiz. I wish exams are over now.

忍!!It will be over soon.

BTW, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a new 5 year deal with Man Utd!! Woo Hoo!!

Should get back to books. 30 Apr, come quickly!!

Updates Badly Needed...

Ok, updates now...

Last week:
It was entirely a blur actually... I only remembered studying for promo quiz, which I did well becos the tutor was lenient in his marking, preparing for apb presentation speech. The rest of the time was devoted to promo project. Our project was supposed to come up with an advertising campaign for HPB for AIDS/STIs prevention. It wasn't so easy as it seems actually. Me and my group were so busy. We practically put everything else down and work on this project. I remembered we met on mon, wed, fri, sat and sun.

Mon:
My Daddy's birthday!! But that is actually secondary because it's the promo project presentation!! To be honest, this can be considered as the biggest presentation in NUS for me yet. It's not the first time I had a presentation in formal wear (biz com's presentation is considered huge too), but this is the first time whereby my grade for a module is entirely hinged on a presentation. We worked really hard for it man. We had a lot of props, and Karen had to borrow her bf's car to bring it to school. She drove us to sch too and had a little dry run in sch b4 rushing to APB lecture. It's really funny actually. We all are dressed in black suits with red tank tops inside to represent our agency BBDO's colour. So imagine when we walked into the LT.... hahaha...

Then it's presentation!! I fumbled, because I did not memorise the speech properly... my fault. But luckily I caught myself before I made a huge error. And the clients were quite critical. I don't blame them. Actually, I expected it... oh well. After that presentation I felt so free!! Haven't feel so free for a long time. We took pictures, talked a little to our classmates and stuff and looked at other groups' presentation. We all actually came up with something that are more or less the same... blogs, carnivals etc. But there are 2 groups that went a little more ...'unsafe' and explicit which surprised me. I wasn't comfortable with the advertisements they put out actually. Also, there is a group in which Chris, who is an exchange student (yes la ang moh la), presented the entire campaign!! Without cards!! I was super amazed. Must learn from him man.
Then at the end of the whole thing, we took pictures!! We took with our tutor Jorg, who was really nice. I learnt a lot from him actually. He is actually quite cute. When I asked him whether he can wear more handsome this wk, he was shocked. Then he said "I try". LOL... Another time, he said something like "The regional heads of the ad agencies are normally ang mohs" and the whole class is shocked because he said the word "ang moh" when he himself is one... There are other little little incidents too... The pictures are with Karen now. Will put it up when she sent to us.
But there are a few photos that I took using my hp camera... a little dark but ok pictures...

Me and Yiwen

Me and Melissa... I got a fat chin going on huh??

Me and another classmate... and if u can't wait to see Jorh, he was at the background. Hahahaha....

And I realised from Melissa that he has a website for his own company. I doubted anyone wants to see it, but if you do, go to http://www.jorgdietzel.com/.

Nice class. Esp Darren aka Nosie Phua... haha... I called him Nosie on Mon and he actually answered me!! Hahaha...

Our classmates may not been great, but the class is fun.

Tues, Wed:
Mug for Corporate Finance test. Finally got the time to do it!! It's really important because this test is like an exam to me... 40% and there is no final paper so yeah...

Thurs:
Corp Fin test. I reached the sch at 840am. The last time I was late for it but it wasn't my fault!! It was because of the jam when I took 96... Anyway I think I escaped the jam this time. But I entered the place late because I went to the toilet and buy milo.. lucky Irene saved me seat. But in the end the prof made me swapped my place with someone else...)= Irene was saying that he confirmed change our seats.... but actually also got no use cos he switched me to sit with someone I know!! LOL... But lucky I was early because Yingqi was slightly late and she had to sit at the prof's place due to no seats left!! And as Linda said, the prof was cute. He said "You guys had 3 mins left" at about 10.55am (the test was until 12pm) before he said "Just kidding..." Glad that it was over.

Fri:
Went for Gen Bio lecture only. I can skip it, given that that is the only lesson I have the entire day but I don't want to keep skipping it. Felt gulity so I went. Finally get to see Wei Wei... so long haven't see each other liao. (Jul also) Saw eleen on the way home. She scolded me for not choosing my major. Her exact words? "这样老了,还没选major!!" (so old alr, haven't choose major!!) Oh well. I still don't know but I shall think about it after my exams. She was entirely shocked when I told her I only have 3 papers to study for this exams because promo is project based while cf was done. LOL... and I TOLD HER TO START STUDYING!! She is always not studying!!

Went to dr chua to buy lotion and eat Mr Bean's ice-cream again... I ate it on mon after the promo project. And you know what?? You know the paper that is placed at the end of the cone? The one whereby it covers the end of the cone? The people there did not take note and put the ice-cream inside the paper!! I went for a refund, and they gave me a almost new cone, so I get to eat about 1 3/4 of mr bean's ice-cream... hahaha.. Then went to TM Times bookshop and get a look at the latest novels in town... already set my sight on a couple of books alr.

And you know what? I haven't place my order on the last bk of Harry Potter!! Times are selling at $49.90 and I think it's too expensive. The last book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince, cost me $40.50. I am waiting to see whether Popular will sell at a lower price... (=

So that's it. A little update. Eleen told me that she doesn't what I am obsessing over and doesn't understand my blog, but I guess this entry she should be able to understand?? Lol...

Ok, Videos time.

I saw the video on MTV just now and I was like "Whoo Hoo!!" Maroon 5 is back!! I think I want to buy their album. Their first album did not disappoint me. And this song "Makes Me Wonder" rocks!! And Adam Levine is cool!! I love it!! Bring on Maroon 5!!

Then it's advertisements time. This is from Budweiser, a beer product. This is an old advertisement and it's one of the earlier advertisements that Jorg showed us. It's a very successful advertisement... you will know why after watching it.

And it created spinoffs too!! Here is one of them...

And for Volkswagen, instead of pimping the ride (from the mtv show), they un-pimp your ride...

Oh well. So I think that's it. I can't remember anymore advertisements liao... there are a lot actually. Oh well.

Cheerios. Got to sleep early cos got to teach tuition.

love.music

I am extremely addicted to John Legend right now... yes yes esp the song that is playing on my blog right now... It's even playing in my head during my corp finance exam, which was horrible!! But this proves the song being formidable!!

He is just so awesome. Great with piano, writes great songs, and he is good-looking as well!!

Contrary to popular belief, I am not a hiphop girl. I am more of RnB girl, liking cool smooth grooves. But I can take any songs actually... and yes I have a fave in every type of genre.... lol

My fave songs of his: Save Room, P.D.A(We Just Don't Care) and of course Ordinary People...

My problem with his songs is that I can get sick easily after listening to his songs too many times... other songs have a longer life in my addiction list than his... but his songs can make me fall hard (in love) ...

First video: the original video of P.D.A. This video is interesting because it showcase white/black relationships...

And this live performance of PDA. I like this performance because the solo guitar part is not cut off and I especially love that section...

I think the song is just extremely sexy... the lyrics is maybe a little too explicit but it's ok with me. Aw... if there is a guy that is like what he sings....

I really regreted not going for his concert in january because I was broke. Should have probably steal, borrow, rob to go his concert. Never mind. I shall not miss the next concert that I want to go...

Btw, I was pleasantly surprised that Jennifer Lopez delivered a good performance on American Idol... I always thought that she can't sing but hey, she wasn't too bad!! Maybe she should stick to performing spanish songs... oh well. But the diva treatment is there on the show... can tell from the way she was introduced to the stage to the point whereby there is a fan blowing against her hair (I think there is only one other singer known to have this type of 'fan' treatment, which is Mariah Carey) .... oh well. Sometimes it's too much to expect so much.

Shall update tml. Tired now.

Cheerios. Enjoy the videos!! I really think that the song is awesome...

End of Road

Oh well, promo presentation over... mixed feelings now. Want to talk about it but that will take way too much time from my studying of cf so I shall talk about it after thurs exam...

But I shall leave u guys with these ads that I saw in the classes that I attended... which was good.

First up, Carl's Jr Burger - Paris Hilton Ad spinoff
I shall not put Paris Hilton's original ad here... but you have to watch it to understand the ad I am putting. Some of u guys might had seen it before... if u need the original url, click this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W22Y1-TqrbY

Next: Switzerland's tourim ad during the world cup last yr.

Last One: Australian's tourism Ad. This ad was banned in some countries (I think UK and some others) because the word "bloody hell" is offensive there but not in Australia. In sg, it's just "where are you?" Bloody hell is removed. In some bus-stops, the posters will read 'where are you?' too...

That's all I remembered now... shall post more next time...

Cheerios.

Random Thoughts... I am laying all on the line

Shit me, I need to do my work but after reading Angeline's blog, I feel like blogging.

She was blogging about her r/s, and boy, how a relationship can make u grow up so fast.

A guy can change very fast. Most of us are not sure where are their lives heading to!!

It causes me to remember a guy who I fell into and out when I realise how much he changed.

DISCLAIMER: FOR THOSE WHO KNOWS WHO I AM TALKING ABOUT IN THE NEXT FEW SECTIONS, DON'T MENTION HIS NAME IN MY TAGBOARD OR COMMENTS PAGE...THANKS. Spare a little thought for him.... and me.

No matter how much he changed for the better, he was a changed person and the person I like was no longer there. It was then I realised that there was no point for me in holding on to him.

Boy, am I glad he changed!! I am leading a way better life.

My aunt (the one in China and is pregnant right now) was asking me the other time do I have a boyfriend and why I do not have one. I told her I was too ugly to attract anyone, and she said that she found me too immature at times to have a boyfriend.

I don't exactly disagree with her.

I admit, I wasn't the most mature person in the world. I don't act my age. I love being doted by my parents and acting like a baby in front of them. I whined. I throw tantrums. But if there is anyone who don't realise that I have a more mature alter ego inside me, the person doesn't know me.

I am not that immature. At least I don't think so. I just like to keep things young, stay young. I don't want to be acting too mature because it's just too tiring. What's wrong for being young and thinking young? In the midst of all the backstabbing and pressure, it's hard to think innocently and young.

After him, I set my standards high. It wasn't that high till it's crazy ok!! I know some of my friends joke that my boyfriend will have to be hairy, angmoh, handsome, rich, tall, nice back muscles blah blah blah. Of course, if I can ever find such a guy (except the hairy part), I am taking him home!! But most importantly, he must be someone who makes me admire him so much that I forget myself. Other factors such as chemistry, humor, what-the-hell are important, but if he has qualities (eg confidence) that totally captivate me, he got me.

And yah, I need a man who is manly. No wimps for me.

All these just reminds me of the palmist who read my palm 1 year ago. He hit the bull's eye when he told me what kind of guys I should look for.

Since coming into NUS, I was never fully attracted to anyone. A few may have caught my eye, some more than others, but never anyone who makes me forget myself and fall fully for. It's not easy to find someone like that, I know. But I learnt that a guy should be totally worth my time. I am taking my time. I don't want any Tom Dick or Harry at this point. I rather name all my future birds to be Tom Dick and Harry.

Maybe that's why I tend towards ang mohs. Most of the Asian guys I met are not assertive enough and I hope that the ang mohs are really like what they are on tv. I am not saying that if a guy is not ang moh he got no chance. I am just saying that if he doesn't know what to do with girls, he should just get out of my way.

In the first place, I think I scared guys away. My mum said that I am a masculine type of girl. Watch soccers and sports, speak her mind.... blah blah blah. Maybe it's so.

Or maybe it just boils down that I am ugly...

So yeah. This is my response to Angeline's post. I should get back to work.

Cheerios.

American Idol

MICHAEL BUBLE PERFORMS ON AMERICAN IDOL!!! Totally unexpected but lovely!!! I love the song and him. Give me more buble!!

But I won't say I love the performance that much. He seems to be slurring his lyrics a little.... maybe, just maybe, he is drunk?

And the question he asked Ryan Seacrest... haha... ryan was a little startled I think. Although the laughter drew my laughter... maybe it's not good to catch a host so off-guard.

Well, CALL ME IRRESPONSIBLE, but that's all I got to say. LOL.

Oh yeah. Jennifer Lopez coaching American Idol next week. HUh?? I was always under the impression that she can shake her booty better than she can sing. Oh yeah, she was super off-key during the grammy performance a few years ago. Marc Anthony had to cover for her then. So yeah... singing coach? I am not sure what I should think of that.

Better go back to my work... so much!! Cya guys.

Sigh~~~

I am so busy

Promo meeting tml, thurs, sat.

Tuition wed, sat.

Corp Fin assignment next wk, with final exam.

I am going crazy!!! So I guess I won't be blogging for a long time..

But I did have so much to say. It helps if u are a fast typer now, can save a little time. Haiz. Too bad I am not one.

Anyway, I like this video Katharine Mcphee's Over It... she is just so pretty here. Haiz. I wish I have her beauty.

And my current fave song.... The Black Eyed Peas Dum Diddly... the one playing on my blog right now. Been looking for this song for ages already...

Will post some more stuff when I am free, esp those ads that I saw from my promo class that are very interesting...

But maybe this one I should show now...

This campaign is called Cleaning Hunk, an online viral campaign for the cleaning liquid Xtra-Pine. To me, it's so corny!! Ah!! To think someone can show something like this!! Makes all housewives look stupid... oh well, u guys judge it yourself. The guy who presented this as an individual presentation acted as Nosie Phua, Rosie Phua's sister. It is easily the best and the funniest presentation ever.

How do you guys feels about this?? hahahaha.... Meanwhile, cya guys.
