Music Music Music....Videos

Ok I am in love with the Goo Goo Dolls. That little fetish, until recently, was almost unknown to a lot of people.

Another little fetish: I like Keith Urban too.

Yes yes, the country singer that doesn't look like any other popular famous male country singers. Maybe I don't like him THAT much like the GGD...But he is a great singer, and I especially love it when he sings You'll think of me...

He is the new Nicole Kidman's husband, in case you don't know. He's more suitable for Nicole I guess...

And he is absolutely dreamy gorgeous!!! Too good for a country singer...

Posting the video here...taken from Grammys 2006 whereby he sang You'll think of me before dueting with Faith Hill for the song The Lucky one

Let it play in the background if u have no time to watch the video... This song is superb. In my opinion la.

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A79Df8YI80k

This is only half of the performance. Can watch the full video here and sing with the lyrics here.

Can't leave out GGD right? Here is the song sympathy...short(the song is less than 3 mins), sweet, sad, lovely. I decided to post the real video for once instead of the vh1 performance because the video is kinda interesting to me..love this song. Let it play in the background if no time to watch...

Album:Gutterflower
Title:Sympathy

Stranger than your sympathy
And this is my apology
Ikilled myself from the inside out
And all my fears have pushed you out

And I wished for things that I don't need(All I wanted)
And what I chased won't set me free(All I wanted)
And I get scared but I'm not crawlin' on my knees

Oh, yeah
Everything's all wrong, yeah
Everything's all wrong, yeah
Where the hell did I think I was?

And stranger than your sympathy
Take these things, so I don't feel
I'm killing myself from the inside out
And now my head's been filled with doubt

We're taught to lead the life you choose(All I wanted)
You know your love's run out on you(All I wanted)
And you can't see when all your dreams aren't coming true

Oh, yeah
It's easy to forget, yeah
When you choke on the regrets, yeah
Who the hell did I think I was?

And stranger than your sympathy
And all these thoughts you stole from me
And I'm not sure where I belong
And no where's home and no more wrong

And I was in love with things I tried to make you believe I was
And I wouldn't be the one to kneel before the dreams I wanted
And all the dark and all the lies were all the empty things disguised as me

Mmm, yeah
Stranger than your sympathy
Stranger than your sympathy
Mmm hmmm mmm

Oh boy...what a sad song. John is a brillant writer.

Better get back to books. Cheerios guys.

It's Mid Week Already (edited)

Dance classes today was quite interesting. But I had a hard time there. Something was wrong with me today, can't differentiate where is my left and where is my right. So in the end anyhow dance. Kept yawning somemore...must be because I slept at 4.30am yesterday morning. It was actually kinda a waste of time going there today because basically I was so out of sorts that I can't really learn anything. Argh...but I need to complete the classes soon because my membership is expiring next wk!!

But I saw Nicole's handsome instructor Yutaki today...too bad Nicole was not with me today. He is like her fave instructor...He was staring at our class when we were trying to do "motor-butt" and our butts faced him...I happened to turn to see him. So weird. That is when I realised that actually he is not too bad looking. Very cute. LOL.

I think Yutaki has a lot of influence on Nicole. She likes him quite a bit I think. But I don't think it's I-like-him-and-want-him-to-be-my-boyfriend. It's more to I-like-him-because-he's-so-cute. Maybe I will become like Nicole when I go to his class next next thurs..."under his spell".

Maybe there are a lot of girls in his class because they all are 'under his spell"? I don't know.

One of the dance instructors was quite funny today...kept me laughing from time to time. And he almost smacked me in the face a couple of times when he was dancing in front of me because his actions was rather big...but I like him. He is quite patient. He actually caught me putting my face in my hands at one point because I had no idea what is wrong with me and I was so frustrated...

Maybe going to "Vietnam Pop" the next time.

And today I really learnt that I need to get back to my running soon. My body is aching only 2 hrs of dancing!! My thighs and the left side of my stomach..My mum didn't let me to go out to run when I was sick last wk and now I simply don't have time. After MA test...I am going to run.
Almost half of the mid-sem break is gone already....sad. I still got so many things to do!! It's just so sian to do work all the time. I want my break!!

Source: http://www.gapingvoid.com/

Oh yeah I want those happier times when I don't have tests all cramped up next week..

Argh, still thinking whether I should s/u genes and society.

Better go back to watch the man u champions league now. Study tml. Cheerios.

Anyway, put some ggd videos to watch to relax myself...

This video is Iris...the song that I will always get chills when I listen to it...love that song man. Love the way Rzeznik sings it...full of emotions and raw intense love and yearning... and for some reason, when I watched him sing for the storytellers vh1 show, I was so touched...

Maybe it's just me.

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I2fnhcus_c

I love the strings part of the song...ah...

Rzeznik broke his song-writing block when he wrote this song...

I love Rzeznik, I love ggd...I wanted to post more videos but I think it's better for me to slow down in case people get sick of them...

BUT I will buy Let Love in and Gutterflower albums soon...

Justin Timberlake's Future Love/Sex Sounds can wait. Hehe...

Crazy...It's elmo!!

I hate myself when I am in a craze. I will search every single thing about the thing I am mad in to feed my craze. And now here is a product of another crazed search...

If u guys watched the VH1 slide video I havd posted previously, u would have seen a short section of John Rzeznik singing to elmo. I found the elmo with goo goo dolls video in its entirely!! Goodness, it makes me laugh so bad!! I already have stitches.. GGD looked like they are trying to control their laughter (u can see them surpressing badly), and once or twice I saw John slipped...

This video has really make me forget about my work for a while, and I THINK it should help some people forget about their troubles too. It's so hilarous!! And kinda terrible for tt matter...

You can judge urself.

Link

By the way, the video was shot in 1999...that's why GGD looks kinda young.. The next video is one of their songs from their new album called Better Days. I think it was used by CNN (not sure which new station) as a background music when they reported about Hurrican Katrina...Very intense song.

Link

I read from somewhere that that they are thinking of launching a world tour (I am not sure about this actually, just read it somewhere), which is kinda expected to me since the album is to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band. But what are the chances of them coming to Singapore? To me, less than zlich. It might take them slightly less than a miracle for them to come here...I hope that they maybe can at least stop at Bangkok or something AND my timetable permits to go AND my mum lets me go. Huge shot.

And I think I can listen to Iris the whole day...it is just such a great song...

Oh well, I better get back to my work.

Cheerios, hope everyone is not going crazy with work like me.

Whirlwind

I passed my days in a daze...always busy and running around for stuff on my "To-Do List". My days are either filled with school, tutorials homework(it's never ending...), presentations and projects, dances or tuitions...Argh!! Can't breathe already!!! I didn't expect life will be so much harder when you are in yr 2...

And I actually forgot to do my audit. Soooo stupid...

I feel like I got sucked into work so badly..

And I just realised that I am having Genes and Society AND Finance mid-term tests on my birthday...PLUS I have another macro econs test on 6 Oct late evening (the day before).......I can already hear people congratulating me and clapping my back already...It's worse than last yr when I only have 1 mid-term on my birthday!! Now I have 1 in the early afternoon and another in the late evening. Now I can't even have half a day to celebrate. I know I am being slightly whiny here, but this is so sickening...

This really really sucks...

Yingqi says that my 21st birthday should be on sun next year. I double-checked, and it's true. So unless my school lecturers are so moronic that they made us come back for tests on sun, everything should be fine next yr. And I will make sure that I wun have to do projects on that day.

Argh, bad mood now.

If there are people who can't stand me blogging about my craze, u can skip the rest of the entry and go straight to the end of it. LOL.

I am in a little "Goo Goo Dolls, John Rzeznik" craze (like u can't tell). I found 2 videos about GGD which was really interesting. The first one is John talking about the band and his life on VH1 Storytellers....if u have 5 mins to spare and in mood for some laughter, watch that. John cracked me up so bad that I was clutching my sides when he got to the middle (TEASER: He was saying that he used to look good in a dress and his ex-girlfriend is a "big girl". ) It was really funny. The 2nd video is him singing slide on the same show. I know I posted the song before, but there was John talking about the song before the music starts. That part with him talking was really fun, and he talks about what was the song about because so many people misunderstood the song's meaning. And the performance was great.

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuPRO5ssTfs

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmYSA7KcZfg
When John said "I met a girl who thought she was May and she tried to kill me..." in the slide video, he was talking about the lyrics...go and find out the lyrics if interested (source from http://lyrics.astraweb.com/). And John Rzeznik is so gorgeous in the videos....lol.
Anyway, the video below is GGD singing "We Are The Normal" which was pretty good. I never heard of the song, and apparently it was released way before Iris so I guess not many people would hear it...

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bwtbVQ2Q90

So I guess I am in a hopeless GGD's craze huh?

Before signing off, there is this another video I want to post. I found this singer accidentially, and saw this video. It was actually quite a good song, and it kinda reminds me of an Indie John Mayer ( a little bit). The song is called Only You by Josh Kelley. I am not sure whether the local radio stations have played him before but if they did, it would be great.

Fun fact: The girl in the video is one of the main cast of Grey's Anatomy (Katherine something...she acts as Izzie Stevens in the show). Katherine and Josh Kelley met on this video's set and are now actually engaged...

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce5IYTTV3yc

I decided that I will Buy GGD's new album Let Love in...soon.

Signing off now, I have to go to school tml.

Cheerios.

Can't stop myself

I finally found Goo Goo Dolls' Dizzy Up The Girl album on friday...it's like a 8 yrs ago album, so it's tough to find. But I found it!!! For a moment I thought I might need to buy online, which is like "argh" but heng ah...I found it man.

Now spinning the Cd till it's on the verge of spilting into 2...

And I can't stop playing the song "Slide". Another one of my fave ggd's songs...and the video is interesting.

Picture link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5QAqvZdfao

And I throw in GGD's Broadway video for good measure...John Rzeznik is simply gorgeous in this vid! Esp his smile...ah...look out for it!!

Now thinking whether I should buy their most recent album...hmm..

Ok I have to keep this short. Need to get back to my tutorials...(argh...)

Cheerios...

Compare and Judge

I am going to post 3 videos now. Watch all 3 of them before moving on please.

I know a lot of u don't have time to watch all of them in full. If that is the case, then maybe u guys can watch half of the video..it should be enough (except the 2nd video. perhaps need to watch 2/3 of the video...)

(Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U90zPnuDFcA)

(Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFqxM9M4T3Y)

(Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkdEWYhtpIY)

Yes, all singing the song Iris. Which is the best??

The 1st video is Ronan Keating's latest single which is released in Europe only. He asked John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls lead singer) to let him do a cover for this song and he agreed. Video shot in Dubai (looks quite expensive but boring huh?)

2nd video is Avril singing with GGD. Not too bad...

The last video is by Goo Goo Dolls themselves. Released in 1998 as part City of Angels soundtrack (which have a few hit songs like alanis's uninvited, sarah's angels...)

For info, Iris was written by John Rzeznik and was GGD's biggest hit ever. John (and the Goo Goo Dolls) was asked to write a song for the movie and so the lyrics is closely associated to that movie (which was quite good...)

When I saw Ronan's version, the first thing that comes to my mind is what the hell...he totally ruin the song!! Argh... The original version is full of emotions, intense and raw love. Ronan's version don't have that!!!

But then again, maybe I am biased.

With Avril, it sounds not too bad...quite refreshing...

But the best is still Goo Goo Dolls singing it...plus, John Rzeznik is so gorgeous...good-looking, charismatic. I fell in love with his slight husky voice too. Yes, he is 41 years old now, but still I like him a lot. Who doesn't??

I remembered Simon Cowell once said that rock bands that make it big have lead singers that are not necessary good-looking, but they have stage presence and charisma. When u come to think of it, it's kinda true. Bon Jovi, Matchbox twenty, Goo Goo Dolls...

Goo Goo Dolls are like my secret, unknown to a lot of people that I like them and are my favourite band at all time. Iris is my favourite song of all time. Not one of my favourites, but THE favourite.

Oh dear, I can listen to that song for hours...what do u guys think?

Goo Goo Dolls have a new album released called Let Love in, which is their 8th album. Will post about it when I got time.

Anyway, in case I am not online on 11 Sep, Happy birthday Sarah!! I hope u are reading this...

Cheerios. Enjoy the videos.

Croc Hunter Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin died of a stingay attack on monday morning. The creature's barb stabbed him at his heart.

So much to say, but now at a loss..

He died doing what he loves best.

It wretches my heart after knowing the way he died.

You will be missed, Crikey...

Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter

There are many articles on the web right now, but this article caught my eye. It describes how the morning went before he died...read here if u are interested.

The Tennis Great Swansong

Andre Agassi (picture source here) retires, and ended his 21 years in tennis.

He played through back pain, and the 36 years old former No 1 still cannot beat the 112th ranked German Benjamin Becker, who is 11 years his junior. He won a number of Grand Slams, US Opens, Australian Opens etc...

In short, he was a great player in Americans' hearts.

I know that I am an absolute greenhorn in tennis and I don't watch tennis matches often. (they just run too long sometimes...) But I always think that when a great athlete retires, it's really sad.

Didn't watch tennis yesterday because I was too hooked up in my novel. Come to think of it, I kinda regret a teeny tiny bit. I should probably stay up to watch Agassi play yesterday..oh well it's over.

He cried after the match, tearful and thankful for the support. It wretches my heart.

There is a time to move on (Go On Andy Roddick!!! But my mum supports Roger Federer....)

But for now, goodbye agassi.

Andre Agassi winced when his backache acts up

Agassi blew a kiss to the crowd

Agassi bowed out his last appearance

Goodbye Andre Agassi...

If interested, can read about him in an article here if lazy to search about him...

P.S. Do you know that Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, has passed away?? He died after a stingray attack. Stingrays don't normally attack people.. Read about him here...

The Devil Wears Prada

Oh man. I simply love movies.

Watched The Devil Wears Prada on fri...not a bad show. I just felt like I am seeing more of Chanel everywhere instead of prada...Meryl Streep is awesome. I remembered one of her lines being "Where is the piece of paper I was holding yesterday??" Lol..

I hope that I can work in some fashion place like this someday. Granted, I am not a fashion addict nor a beauty vainpot but hey, I can learn right? It's fun to work in such places I think... and I want to work in New York someday...

But that's all a dream. We all know how hard it is for them to be realised.

Oh well, dreams keep me sane.

My blog is turning stale, and I am not surprised if not many people are reading my blog anymore. I simply have no time updating it as much as I want to. I am always buried under tutorials...imagine when projects and presentation comes. I am so screwed. MA is absolutely a torture... I always take at least 1 day to finish the tutorial. The lecture and the tutorial seems to be incoherent...I wonder whether the lecturer knows what he's doing.

Argh. School sucks. The only best part is the student discounts.

Anyway, I am putting a few of Anne Hathaway's outfits. The white one is my fave.

Outfit 1

Outfit 2

Outfit 3 (even though actually u can sort of see emily's and meryl's dresses...)

Outfit 4

And lastly...

Simon Baker( He is quite a hunk right?)

Yes I know he is not an outfit, but I just want to put him in.He's such a hunk..Anyway there are supposed to be more pictures but I have problem uploading them...oh well. What's new?

Sorry my language is incoherent. My brain is fried.

Cheerios.
